When purchasing an electric forklift, many beginners are often unable to start because they do not understand the core parameters. In fact, as long as they sort through the key configurations one by one, they can choose the equipment that suits their needs.
Reasonable matching tonnage
First of all, it is necessary to clarify the weight range of daily handling goods. If it is small goods handling in warehousing, such as e-commerce warehouses and small supermarkets, usually 1-2 tons of electric forklifts can meet the demand; if it involves heavy industrial goods, such as building materials and large machinery parts, models of 3 tons or more are required. At the same time, it is also necessary to consider the frequency of handling and the scenario of high-frequency operations. It is recommended to choose models with a tonnage slightly higher than the daily maximum weight of goods to avoid long-term full load operation affecting the life of the equipment.
Select the door frame on demand
The gantry is the core component that affects the operating range of a forklift, and it needs to be selected in combination with storage space and operating requirements.
In terms of door frame types, standard door frames are suitable for scenarios with conventional lifting heights, such as ordinary shelf handling; fully free door frames can achieve higher lifting in low net height space, suitable for warehouses with limited floor heights but high shelves.
The height of the door frame should match the height of the shelf floor, and measure the height of the highest pickup point of the shelf to ensure that there is a certain margin for the maximum lifting height of the forklift to avoid the situation where the goods cannot be picked up. In addition, the lifting speed is also a reference point. For scenarios that require fast handling of goods, you can choose a door frame configuration with moderate lifting speed to balance efficiency and safety.
Other auxiliary reference points
In addition to tonnage and door frames, the working environment should also be considered. Indoor operations prioritize silent, non-exhaust vehicles, while outdoor operations need to consider waterproof and non-slip performance. At the same time, the ease of maintenance of the equipment is also important, such as whether the wearing parts are easy to replace, which can reduce the cost of long-term use.
When purchasing an electric forklift, beginners don't have to rush to make a decision. They should first clarify their own operating requirements, and then check them one by one from the core points such as tonnage and gantry, so that they can choose the most cost-effective equipment.
