First of all, operators need to conduct a full visual check of the two forks before starting the equipment, observe the whole body of the forks to confirm there are no obvious cracks, bending deformation or sharp burr traces. Any hidden crack on the fork body will break under heavy load during operation, so unqualified forks must not be put into use.
Then, check the wear amount of the fork heel area. The thickness of the fork heel is the main structural part to bear the load, it is required that the wear thickness shall not exceed 10% of the original size. Excessive wear will directly reduce the rated load bearing capacity of the fork, leading to potential tipping risk when carrying heavy goods.
Next, verify the alignment and fastening status of the two forks. Confirm that the two forks are kept at the same horizontal height, the upper fastening pins and limit locking structures are in good working condition, no loose, slipping or position offset phenomenon, to avoid uneven force on single fork during handling.
Finally, inspect the hook structure at the top of the fork, confirm there is no obvious deformation or crack on the contact surface of the hook, the connection between the forks and the fork carriage remains stable all the time.
