In the rear axle drive system of an electric forklift, the half-shaft differential gear seal is one of the key components to ensure the stable operation of the system. Although it is not large in size, it bears the important responsibility of blocking lubricating oil leakage and preventing external impurities from invading the interior of the differential, which is directly related to the efficiency and service life of the gear transmission.
This type of sealing accessory is usually composed of suitable sealing materials and reasonable structural design. Common forms include skeleton oil seals, O-rings, etc. Different sealing structures are designed for different transmission parts. For example, with the support of a rigid skeleton, the skeleton oil seal can form a stable sealing surface between the high-speed rotating half shaft and the shell, effectively adapting to the vibration and temperature changes of the forklift during operation; while the O-ring is mostly used for static sealing parts, through its own elastic bonding with the contact surface, to achieve a reliable sealing effect. In terms of materials, oil-resistant, wear-resistant and aging-resistant synthetic rubber is mostly used to adapt to the erosion and long-term friction loss of the lubricating oil inside the differential.
If the sealing parts are aging, damaged, or improperly installed, it will lead to lubricating oil leakage, which will not only cause oil waste, but also increase the wear of the differential gear due to insufficient lubrication, resulting in abnormal transmission noise, reduced power transmission efficiency, and other problems. In severe cases, it can even lead to differential failure, affecting the normal operation of the forklift.
In daily use, it is necessary to regularly check the sealing parts, focusing on whether there are traces of oil leakage and whether there are cracks or deformation on the surface of the seals. It is generally recommended to check the sealing status synchronously with the rear axle maintenance after each operation of the forklift for a certain period of time. When signs of sealing failure are found, it is necessary to replace the suitable sealing parts in time. During the replacement process, pay attention to cleaning the installation parts to avoid impurities from entering, and at the same time ensure that the seals are installed in place to avoid re-leakage due to installation deviation.
Attaching importance to the maintenance and management of the rear axle half-axle differential gear seal fittings can effectively prolong the service life of the rear axle transmission system of the electric forklift, ensure the operation stability and operation efficiency of the forklift, and provide reliable support for daily logistics handling work.
