Before installing pallet extensions on an electric forklift to handle over-length loads, operators need to confirm that the load weight does not exceed the rated load limit of the forklift within the extended load center range. It is not allowed to carry unbalanced over-length loads that are heavier on one side, and the surface of the pallet extensions should be kept flat without obvious cracks or deformation before formal use.
When transporting over-length loads with pallet extensions, operators need to reduce the driving speed properly, avoid sharp turns and sudden braking, and keep a sufficient safe distance from surrounding shelves, passing personnel and fixed obstacles in the operation area. It is not allowed to lift the over-length load too high, the bottom of the load should be kept 15 to 20 centimeters above the ground during normal driving, to prevent the load from scratching the ground or losing balance accidentally.
Before stacking or unstacking the over-length load, operators should confirm that there is enough operating space above and around the operation position, and no irrelevant personnel stay in the surrounding warning area. After the whole operation process is completed, the pallet extensions should be unloaded and placed in the designated storage area, to avoid placing them randomly on the channel which may cause tripping or collision risks.
