Influence of Low Temperature Environment on Battery Life of Small Lithium Battery Forklift
The low temperature environment will have a significant impact on the battery performance of the small lithium battery forklift. The chemical reaction rate inside the lithium battery slows down as the temperature decreases, and the utilization rate of the active material decreases accordingly, which directly leads to the reduction of the forklift's cruising range. At the same time, the internal resistance of the battery increases at low temperatures, and the energy loss during the discharge process increases. Long-term operation in this environment may also accelerate battery aging and shorten the overall service life.
Battery life maintenance skills of small lithium battery forklift in low temperature environment
Do a good job of battery preheating before operation
Before operating in a low-temperature environment, it is recommended to start the vehicle's preheating function in advance. If the vehicle does not have a special preheating system, the forklift can be parked in a relatively high-temperature indoor environment for a period of time, and the battery temperature will rise to a suitable range before operating. Preheating can effectively improve the reaction efficiency of the active substances inside the lithium battery and reduce battery life loss.
Reasonable adjustment of work intensity and rhythm
When operating at low temperatures, avoid frequent sudden acceleration and sudden stop operations, which will cause the battery to discharge at high current and increase energy consumption. Try to maintain a stable operating rhythm, adjust the driving speed according to actual needs, reduce unnecessary loads, and maintain the battery in a relatively stable discharge state, thereby prolonging the battery life.
Strengthen daily battery inspection and maintenance
Periodically conduct a comprehensive inspection of the battery to check whether there are abnormal conditions such as bulging and leakage in the shell, and check the firmness of the battery cable to avoid power loss due to poor contact. At the same time, keep the battery cooling channel open, clean the surface area dust in time, and prevent poor heat dissipation from affecting the battery performance. In addition, regularly calibrate the battery management system to ensure that it can accurately monitor the battery status, providing a reliable basis for maintenance.
Optimize the vehicle parking environment
During non-working hours, try to park the small lithium battery forklift in a constant temperature warehouse or a closed indoor space to avoid long-term exposure to low temperature environments. If it can only be parked in the open air due to conditions, a special thermal insulation cover can be used to cover the battery area to reduce battery heat loss, maintain the appropriate temperature of the battery, and prepare for the next operation.
