The gantry chain and the fork are the core bearing accessories of the electric forklift, and the adaptability of the two is directly related to the lifting safety, operating efficiency and component service life of the forklift. For electric forklifts of different tonnages, the strength specifications, structural design of the gantry chain and the carrying capacity and size parameters of the fork need to be strictly matched, otherwise it is easy to cause safety accidents such as chain break and fork deformation, which will affect the normal operation of the forklift.
For small electric forklifts of 1-3 tons, the rated lifting weight of the fork is relatively small, and the suitable gantry chain needs to meet the bearing strength requirements of the foundation. Under normal circumstances, the breaking pull force of the chain should not be less than 1.5 times the rated lifting weight of the fork, and the pitch of the chain should match the size of the gantry pulley to ensure the smooth operation of the chain during the lifting process. This type of forklift is mostly used for the handling of small goods in warehouses. The length of the fork is generally short, and the chain does not need to be extended too long, but it is necessary to ensure a good fit with the connection part of the fork to avoid shaking during lifting.
Medium-sized electric forklifts of 3-5 tons are often used for the loading, unloading and transshipment of medium-sized goods. The load-bearing pressure of the fork is greater, and the strength grade of the door frame chain is higher. At this time, the suitable chain needs to be made of higher-strength materials, and the breaking pull force needs to reach more than twice the rated lifting weight of the fork. At the same time, the number of chain links should be adapted to the lifting height of the door frame to ensure that the chain can still maintain sufficient tension when the fork is lifted to the highest position. In addition, the length of the fork is usually long, and the chain needs to have a certain degree of toughness to avoid fatigue cracking during frequent lifting operations.
Large electric forklifts of 5-10 tons are mainly used for the handling of heavy goods. The forks are mostly designed with thickened reinforcement, and the suitable gantry chains are mostly multi-chain structures to disperse the bearing pressure. The breaking pull force of each chain needs to correspond to the corresponding proportion of the rated lifting weight of the fork, and the overall bearing capacity needs to cover the maximum lifting weight of the fork. At the same time, the connecting parts of the chain and the fork need to be strengthened to ensure that there will be no decoupling, loosening and other problems during the lifting process to ensure the safety of the operation.
When adapting the gantry chain to the fork, it is necessary to strictly refer to the original technical manual of the forklift to avoid replacing the chain or fork of different specifications at will. In daily operations, it is necessary to regularly check the wear degree of the chain and the deformation of the fork. If there is component loss or the fit gap is too large, it is necessary to adjust or replace it in time to ensure that the two always maintain a good fit state and prolong the overall service life of the forklift.
