In the daily operation of electric forklifts, the battery-powered cooling fan is one of the main common noise sources. Excessive operation noise will reduce the comfort of on-site operators, and may also interfere with the normal communication of personnel in the closed workshop, which does not meet the standardized quiet operation requirements of most modern industrial parks.
The first practical modification tip is to conduct full inspection and cleaning first. After long-term operation, a large amount of dust and debris will adhere to the surface and gaps of the fan blades, which will cause the dynamic balance deviation of the fan rotor, generate extra vibration and abnormal noise during high-speed operation. You can use a soft brush to clean the attachments on the fan blades, and tighten all loose fixing screws on the fan base properly, which can effectively reduce most of the unnecessary vibration noise.
The second tip is to add high-quality damping pads. Select high temperature resistant and aging resistant rubber damping pads, and install them between the connection gaps of the fan bracket and the forklift body, which can effectively cut off the rigid noise conduction path during the operation of the fan. Please note that the damping pad shall not block the air inlet and outlet channels of the fan, so as not to affect the normal heat dissipation efficiency of the battery pack.
The third tip is to optimize the peripheral sealing structure of the fan. Add qualified sound-absorbing seal foam at the butt joint gap of the fan air outlet, which can reduce the turbulence of the airflow during operation, and further reduce the wind noise generated by the airflow friction. Do not replace the fan parts with mismatched power parameters without permission, to avoid affecting the load stability of the original circuit.
