In daily warehousing and logistics operations, operators often face scenarios with variable pallets of different sizes, specifications and materials. Unmatched tines width will easily lead to pallet damage, cargo slipping, and even unnecessary operation safety risks, so mastering the standardized tines width adjustment process is the basic operation skill for all electric forklift drivers.
First, complete the pre-operation check before adjustment. Before starting the adjustment, please park the electric forklift completely on the flat ground, pull up the parking brake, activate the low-speed safety mode, then get off the vehicle and measure the inner distance between two fork holes of the to-be-handled pallet, confirm the pallet’s load rating and structural strength, make sure the adjusted tines can cover most of the pallet support area to avoid local stress overload.
Then follow the standard adjustment operation process. Stand in the safe area on the side of the tines, do not stand directly under the suspended tines to avoid accidental injury. Follow the official operation guide of the device to release the positioning lock structure, push the two tines to slide along the guide rail synchronously to the target position, then confirm the locking structure is fully clamped into the fixed position, shake the two tines slightly to check there is no loose shaking.
Carry out adaptation test before formal handling. Align the adjusted tines with the pallet fork holes, insert slowly until the tines reach the limit position on the other side of the pallet, lift the tines to 10 to 15 cm above the ground, move the electric forklift for a short distance at low speed, verify the pallet has no offset, no jamming or abnormal shaking. After confirming the full adaptation, you can start the formal handling operation.
